Work Integrated Learning
We're often asked how alumni can further engage with Monash while providing help for current students. Monash alumni are incredibly generous and may give their time through mentoring or philanthropically such as ? This is your opportunity to host a student in your workplace through an internship.
Work Integrated Learning
Working with our students before they graduate gives you access to some of the best and brightest minds of today. They bring fresh ideas, great skills, and can help develop solutions for the real world challenges we face in our ever evolving world. Managing and mentoring interns also provides development opportunities for you and your staff. Your business will benefit and you will expand your network to include our future business leaders.
Why choose a Monash intern?
Monash students constantly challenge the status quo and push boundaries. Interns are a great resource for either specific projects or to support your organisation's regular operations. You can help grow them into work ready graduates by providing real world opportunities.
Internships offer valuable exposure to the world of work and students often tell us that internships are transformative to their outlook and ways of thinking.
What are the costs involved?
There is no cost for partnering with Monash and accepting an intern. Monash University provides visa assistance as well as insurance for the student (if required) and we can help you design an internship project or placement that’ll suit your workplace. Internships usually run between three and four weeks. All we require is that you have public indemnity insurance, a supervisor for the intern and a safe place for them to work.
Matching your requirements
We’ll carefully match students to your specific requirements and you can conduct interviews to select the right intern for your organisation. We’ve successfully placed Monash University interns in a wide range of industries including:
If this sounds like an opportunity your organisation would like to be involved with, contact us for more information. Our Work Integrated Learning team will discuss your work requirements and the options based on your needs. They will then find and shortlist the best candidates for you. You select and interview your preferred candidates and offer them the internship.
Once the internship has commenced, the team will be in touch so you can give feedback on your intern's performance. At the end of the placement, you can tell us how it all went with a thorough debrief.
